Taylor Carvalho is a Birmingham-raised junior studying Spanish, International Relations, and English. She hopes that her career will one day help others be educated and appreciative of the world's cultural differences. In her free time, Taylor is an Honors College Ambassador and teaches Spanish to kindergartners at Arcadia Elementary School. She loves reading the news and sitting in the sun.

Cara Bolt is a freshman majoring in Public Relations. She is from Prattville, Alabama, where she participated in Model United Nations for all four years of high school, going to a variety of conferences that range from ALMUN, LAMP Invitational, and GTMUN. She is very excited to carry over high school MUN to college and be a part of ALMUN 2015! She loves Jack White and has every album of his. She has also had dinner next to John Slattery, hung out with Jerry O'Connell and had dinner with one of the writers of Ice Age all in one trip to Montauk, NY.

Special Political and Decolonization Committee

The Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL) deals with issues concerning decolonization issues, Palestinian refugees and human rights, peacekeeping, mine action, outer space, public information, atomic radiation, and the University for Peace. The SPECPOL Chair is Cara Bolt and the Co- Chair is Taylor Carvalho. Delegates will debate on the following subjects:

  1. Kurdish Refugees in Turkey
  2. Mine action in Somalia
  3. Korean Reunification
